The amount of funding available is dependent upon the money raised for the Team. The Fundraising Campaign benefitting the Team has been headed by HWGF's Talent Development Parents Committee Chair Carolyn Klinger, her email: carolyn.klinger@verizon.net. We appreciate all her time and efforts!
Over $100,000 raised has benefitted members of the Junior Team at MDTTC, formerly known as HWGF's Talent Development Program, since the fall of 2015. The money raised included the matching donations made by the founders of HW Global Foundation Hans and Wen Hsu.
In addition to the matching gift commitment made by Hans and Wen for the Junior Table Tennis Team at MDTTC, they have provided and obtained funding from other resources to support HWGF. The use of this additional funds will be at the discretion of HWGF, which in the past included professional development for team coaches; mental and physical training, private coaching, overseas training, equipment sponsorship for promising young talents, etc.
All donations to HWGF, a 501c3 nonprofit organization, are tax deductible. We thank all the donors for their generous contributions!
Student athletes age 14+ are welcome to apply for internships with HWGF. The goal of the HWGF internship is to help students develop teamwork and leadership skills.
These interns will work directly with Hans or Wen Hsu, founders of HWGF.
Hans Hsu: former Managing Director at Merrill Lynch; Marshall Scholar; graduated from University of Cambridge & Harvard Law School
Wen Hsu: former School Principal and teacher, former table tennis club owner and manager, former member of the USATT High Performance Committee; graduated from Stanford University
Student athletes who are not members of the Junior Team at MDTTC may also be eligible for scholarships and grants from HWGF. The funding for these student athletes is completely separate from the money raised specifically for members of the Junior Team at MDTTC.
